About the Copyright Collection Service
Jamendo offers you the possibility to make use of our Copyright Collection service and collect revenue that is due to you as a result of your Publishing rights. We are partnering up with Bridger, an independent management entity, to collect publishing rights on your behalf.
The Copyright Collection service is enabled by default for all Jamendo Artist accounts whose tracks are published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog.
Jamendo Tip
To submit your tracks to the Copyright Collection service, you first need to submit them to the Jamendo Licensing Catalog.
If your tracks are not published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog, you will not be able to add them to the Copyright Collection service.
Type of Rights Collected
As the owner of the copyright on all the musical works you created alone or with other contributors, you are entitled to royalties that need to be paid by digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, or user-generated content platforms (UGC), such as YouTube or TikTok, as well as other relevant digital or non-digital platforms with which Bridger has established direct or indirect partnerships.By enabling the Copyright Collection Service through Jamendo, you mandate Bridger to collect all generated copyright royalties on your musical works commercially exploited by digital service providers around the world, including:
- Mechanical Rights: Rights generated when a track subject to copyright is reproduced and distributed on different supports such as CDs, vinyls, downloads and streaming platforms.
- Performing Rights: Rights generated when a copyrighted track is broadcast beyond a private environment, in such instances as streaming, television, radio, public places, and website.
Revenue Share
If you choose to participate in the Jamendo Licensing program, and wish to use the Copyright Collection via Bridger, you will receive 87.5% of net revenues collected by Bridger on your behalf. This revenue share will be credited to your Artist Account in the My Transactions tab.
Jamendo Tip
You can expect that your first copyright collection revenue will be imported into your account within 7-9 months after you've published your first works.
During this time, we sync our databases with our partners, work on getting your usage reports, and so we can finally be able to import your earnings into your account.
After the first revenue import, your earnings will be updated monthly.
Enable Copyright Collection
The Copyright Collection service is enabled for your account by default if your music has already been accepted and published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog.
If your works haven't been submitted and published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog before, please check out this article to find out how to submit your music to this monetization program.
Disable Copyright Collection
Opting out and disabling the Copyright Collection service for your tracks will have no impact on your account and tracks, or any of the Jamendo licensing options or monetization services you participate in.
You will still be able to submit and publish your tracks on Jamendo Licensing, including the Jamendo Catalog and In-Store programs. This means you can continue to earn revenue through these platforms while opting out of the Copyright Collection service.
To disable the Copyright Collection service:
- Navigate to the Sing up for Jamendo Licensing tab of your Jamendo Artist account.
- Scroll down to see the list of your tracks and the monetization services they are submitted to.
- In the column labeled Disable Copyright Collection, check the checkboxes for the track(s) you wish to exclude from the Copyright Collection service.
- Finally, click Submit and Continue.
By checking the boxes next to the tracks you want to exclude from the Copyright Collection, the tracks will be removed from Jamendo Licensing’s Copyright Collection monetization service.
Jamendo Tip
If your tracks are currently included in the Copyright Collection service offered by Jamendo in partnership with Bridger, and you wish to exclude them, please be aware that the agreement is for an initial 12-month term. Therefore, your tracks will be excluded from the program only after the first 12 months of your registration.
The Copyright Collection Column is Grayed Out
If the Copyright Collection column is grayed out and can't be enabled or disabled for your tracks, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- Your tracks are under moderation for the Jamendo Licensing service. Click here to understand the moderation statuses.
- Your tracks were rejected from the Jamendo Licensing service.
- Your tracks were accepted for the In-Store service but not the main Licensing Catalog.
- You've unpublished your tracks from Jamendo Licensing.
