Text & Data Mining

About Text and Data Mining

Jamendo gives you the option to participate in our Text and Data Mining (TDM) monetization service, providing you with an opportunity to generate additional income. The Text and Data Mining (TDM) service is automatically enabled for all Jamendo Artist accounts with tracks published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog. The service allows your music to support research, innovation, and the advancement of future technologies and tools. You can choose to disable or re-enable this feature at any time.

 Jamendo Tip

To submit your tracks to the Text and Data Mining service, you first need to submit them to the  Jamendo Licensing Catalog.

If your tracks are not published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog, you will not be able to add them to the Text and Data Mining service.

Revenue Share

You are entitled to a 30% revenue share each time a license for one of your tracks is sold to a Jamendo Text and Data Mining (TDM) customer.
Please note that the TDM revenue share does not apply to tracks sold through the Jamendo Licensing website.
Text and Data Mining earnings are added to your account on a monthly basis, with a four-month waiting period before they become eligible for payout. In some cases, depending on the specific agreement Jamendo has with a TDM partner, earnings may be processed at the end or renewal of the contract.

Enable the Text and Data Mining Service

The Text and Data Mining service is enabled for your account by default if your music has already been accepted and published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog.

If your works haven't been submitted and published in the Jamendo Licensing Catalog before, please check out this article to find out how to submit your music to this monetization program.

Disable the Text and Data Mining Service

Opting out and disabling the Text and Data Mining service for your tracks will have no impact on your account and tracks, or any of the Jamendo licensing options or monetization services you participate in

You will still be able to submit and publish your tracks on Jamendo Licensing, including the Jamendo Catalog and In-Store programs. This means you can continue to earn revenue through these platforms while opting out of the Text & Data Mining service.

To disable the Text & Data Mining service:

  1. Navigate to Sing up for Jamendo Licensing tab of your Jamendo Artist account.

  2. Scroll down to see the list of your tracks and the monetization services they are submitted to.
  3. In the column labeled Disable TDM on Jamendo Licensing, check the checkboxes on the track(s) which you'd like to exclude from the TDM service.
  4. Finally, click Submit and Continue.

By checking the boxes next to the tracks you want to exclude from TDM, the tracks will be removed from Jamendo Licensing’s Text and Data Mining (TDM) monetization service.

Please note that enabling or disabling of the Text and Data Mining service will have no impact on other licensing opportunities or monetization services available on Jamendo.

Re-enabling the Text and Data Mining service

The Text and Data Mining service is enabled for your account by default but if you've disabled the service for your tracks, you can always re-enable it.

To enable the TDM service:

  1.  Navigate to the Sing up for Jamendo Licensing tab of your Jamendo Artist account.

  2. Scroll down to see the list of your tracks and the monetization services they are submitted to.
  3. If you’ve previously opted out of the TDM service, you can re-enable it by unchecking the boxes next to the relevant track(s) in the Disable TDM column.
  4. Finally, click Submit and Continue.
 Jamendo Tip

Enabling or disabling of the Text and Data Mining service will have no impact on other licensing opportunities or monetization services available on Jamendo.

Text and Data Mining Column is Grayed Out

If the Text and Data Mining (TDM) column is grayed out and can't be edited for your tracks, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • Your tracks are under moderation for the Jamendo Licensing service.
  • Your tracks were rejected from the Jamendo Licensing service.
  • Your tracks were accepted for the In-Store service but not the main Licensing Catalog.
  • You've unpublished your tracks from Jamendo Licensing.
